Protecting the confidentiality of personal information is imperative to Mindsec Security Inc. (“Mindsec”, “our”, “us” or “we”). This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) applies to our website and explains why we collect, what types we may collect, how we collect, how we use, who we share with, and how we protect your personal information. This Policy may be updated as needed and the most recent version will be posted on this webpage. Such changes become effective as soon as they are posted. By using our website and when sharing your personal information with us through our website, including our career page, you consent to the collection, use, disclosure and retention of your personal information in accordance with this Policy.

1. Why we collect personal information

We may collect personal information about you to : i) to provide you with the services you requested; ii) respond to your inquiries; iii) send you promotional/marketing communications, by email or by phone, such as providing you with information about our products and services, features, surveys, newsletters, offers, events and other information which we think you may find interesting; iv) consider your application to one of our job postings; and iv) for other purposes for which we obtain your consent.

 

2. What types of personal information we collect

You may choose to provide us with such personal information such as your contact details, including name, title, email address, phone number and physical address, company name and number of employees. You may choose to provide us with this personal information if you wish, although you do not have to provide it to access our website. However, please note that if you choose not to, this may prevent us from delivering the services/products you requested.

If you wish to apply for a job with Mindsec through our career page you may provide us with your resume, education, work history, visa status and any other personal information that you may choose to share with us within the context of your job application.

Our products and services are not intended for children, and we do not wish to collect any personal information of any person under the age of 14, without prior verifiable consent of his or her parent or legal guardian and complying with any other legal requirements. If we become aware that we have collected personal information about a person under the age of 14, without verifiable parental or legal guardian consent, we will delete this personal information from our records or take reasonable steps to de-identify the personal information immediately.

We may collect personal information linked to your browsing activities, such as your IP address, your device identifier, the type of browser, the pages viewed on our website, the ads you clicked on and other similar information that we collect through cookies, web beacons and other automated methods when you access our website. We may also collect any other personal information that you may provide us with.

We will store your personal information in accordance with our retention policies or as otherwise required or permitted by law, after which your personal information will be securely destroyed or anonymized (so the information no longer identifies you.

 

3. How do we collect personal information

We collect personal information from you when you provide it to us directly, for example when you create an account with us, when you sign up to receive our newsletters, our offers or promotions, apply for an open position; or indirectly via other websites and/or social media (as described herein). As further described in our Cookies section we collect certain personal information through cookies. We may also collect some personal information automatically while you are browsing our website, as mentioned above. Lastly, we may also receive personal information about you from our authorised resellers and business partners who refer you to our services.

We may disclose personal information only those employees, agents and subcontractors of Mindsec who have a legitimate business need to access your personal information. All such employees, agents, subcontractors, service providers, or professionals are bound by contractual confidentiality, non-disclosure obligations and applicable professional codes of conduct and legislation.

. We may share or transfer personal information we collect about you to third parties that are located outside of Quebec, or Canada or in countries other than the country where we originally collected your personal information for the purposes of storage and operating our services. When we transfer your personal information outside of the jurisdiction where you are residing, we will protect that personal information as described in this Policy and take all steps, where necessary, to ensure that all national and international transfers comply with applicable laws, including but not limited to any law permitting or requiring disclosure of the personal information to the government, government agencies, courts and law enforcement in that jurisdiction.

At Mindsec we are committed to protecting your personal information and your privacy. We have a combination of administrative, physical and technical security measures put in place to safeguard your personal information from unauthorized access, modification, use, disclosure or destruction.

This include, but are not limited to Encryption in transit and at rest; multi-factor authentication for platform access; network and infrastructure hardening; audit logging and intrusion detection; strict internal access controls; and regular security assessments Please take note that no Internet or email transmission is ever fully secure or error free, however we follow industry-recognized best practices . Please keep this in mind when disclosing any personal information via the Internet.

We will keep your personal information for only as long as we need it to fulfill the purposes for which it has been collected. After such period we will securely and permanently destroy your personal information.

 

8. Cookies

Cookies are small files that are transferred to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser. We use cookies to enable our systems to recognize your browser and to provide features to personalize your use of our website, analyze traffic to our website and generate browsing data to help us improve our website. Our website may contain links to other websites, including but not limited to social media platforms and when you leave our website to access these other websites this Policy no longer applies. Mindsec honours your right to access, verify, modify, or delete the personal information you have provided us. Subject to the limits prescribed by applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Request deletion (where permitted and possible);

  • Withdraw your consent to receiving any marketing communications from us;
  • File a complaint with the relevant privacy authorities.
